Eligibility :- B. Pharma / M.Pharma / B.Sc / M.Sc and PhD

Pharmacy Course Module

  • Determination of Total Blood Count, WBC Count,
  • Bleeding Time, Clotting Time,
  • Blood grouping,
  • Pulse Rate & BP Monitoring.

Pharmaceutical Analysis:

  • Limit test of chemicals (Chloride, Sulfate, Iron & heavy Metal),
  • Preparation and standardization of reagents (NaOH, H2SO4, etc.),
  • Assay of different chemicals (Ammonium Chloride, Ferrous Sulfate, Copper Sulfate, etc.),
  • Determination of Normality by electro-analytical methods.

Pharmaceutics:

  • Preparation of Syrups, Elixirs, Linctus, Solutions, Suspensions, Emulsions, Powders and Granules, Suppositories, Gargles and Mouthwashes.

Pharmaceutical Inorganic Chemistry:

  • Identification test of chemical,
  • Purity test,
  • Preparation of inorganic pharmaceuticals.

Pharmaceutical Organic Chemistry:

  • qualitative analysis of unknown organic compounds-
  • Preliminary test,
  • Solubility test,
  • Functional group test,
  • Melting point/Boiling point,
  • Preparation of suitable solid derivatives from organic compounds,
  • Determination of oil values,
  • Preparation of compounds like Benzanilide, Phenyl benzoate, etc.

Pharmaceutical Biochemistry:

  • Qualitative analysis of carbohydrates,
  • Identification tests for Proteins,
  • Quantitative analysis of reducing sugars (DNSA method) and Proteins (Biuret method),
  • Qualitative analysis of urine for abnormal constituents,
  • Determination of blood creatinine & blood sugar,
  • Determination of Salivary amylase activity, etc.

PHYSICAL PHARMACEUTICS:

  • Determination the solubility of drug,
  • Determination of Partition co- efficient,
  • Determination of % composition,
  • Determination of surface tension,
  • Determination of particle size,
  • particle size distribution using sieving method & Microscopic method,
  • Determination of bulk density, true density and porosity, etc.

PHARMACEUTICAL MICROBIOLOGY:

  • Study of different equipment,
  • Sterilization,
  • Sub culturing of bacteria and fungus.
  • Nutrient stabs and slants preparations,
  • Staining methods- Simple, Grams staining and acid fast staining,
  • Pure Culture Techniques – Spread Plate, Pour Plate, Streak Plate.
  • Isolation of pure culture of micro-organisms,
  • Assay of antibiotics,
  • Motility determination,
  • Sterility testing of pharmaceuticals,
  • Bacteriological analysis of water,
  • Biochemical test, etc.
  • Antimicrobial Activity of Herbal Drug Formulations

MEDICINAL CHEMISTRY:

  • Preparation of drugs/ intermediates,
  • Assay of drugs,

PHARMACOGNOSY AND PHYTOCHEMISTRY:

  • Analysis of crude drugs by chemical tests,
  • Determination of moisture content of crude drugs,
  • Morphology, histology and powder characteristics & extraction & detection of: Cinchona, Cinnamon, Senna, Clove, Ephedra, Fennel and Coriander,
  • Separation of sugars by Paper chromatography,
  • TLC of herbal extract,
  • Analysis of crude drugs by chemical tests,
  • Phytochemical screening of crude drugs.

Industrial Pharmacy:

  • Quality control test of (as per IP) marketed tablets and capsules,
  • Preparation of Eye drops/ and Eye ointments,
  • Preparation of Creams (cold / vanishing cream),
  • Preparation of herbal drugs.

INSTRUMENTAL METHODS OF ANALYSIS:

  • Estimation of dextrose by colorimetry,
  • Estimation of ibuprofen and paracetamol by UV spectroscopy,
  • Separation of plant pigments,
  • Demonstration experiment on U-HPLC.
